Team Multiple Choice Round – The first half will be a timed multiple-choice paddle round.  (20 minutes for TREK, 20 minutes for JOURNEY).  Quizzers will use paddles to give team answers.  There is a minimum of 2 quizzers per team.  Each team has a maximum of 6 quizzers, but only 4 are allowed on stage to quiz.  If there is only 1 quizzing from a church, you will be placed on another team if available.  Each question is worth 20 points and there is no deduction for incorrect answers. 

Team Speed Round – The second half will be a timed speed round.  The Quizmaster will read a question and the first team that buzzes in will have the opportunity to answer.  If incorrect, the next team that buzzed in will have the opportunity to answer.  No one team member may answer more than 2 consecutive questions.  Questions are worth 20, 30, and 40 points.  If a team answers incorrectly, the value of the question is deducted from its score and the question is now worth ½ for the second team that buzzed in.  

Tie Breaker – In the event of a tie, we will have an additional 3 minute speed round.  Only the churches that are tied will participate. 

Quiz Content for TREK will cover the Trek Check Entrance Brochure and Lessons 1.1-1.12 in the Dashboard Series.  JOURNEY will cover A Study in Galatians and Ephesians (Main Study 2) and Faith’s Foundations.

Team Size and Cost:  The registration fee is $6.00 per quizzer.  Each church may register 1 to 6 quizzers per team.  There is no limit on how many teams a church brings to the competition.

Uniforms:  All team members must wear their club uniform (if applicable).  The AwanaGames team uniform is acceptable.  No shorts will be allowed.

Scorekeepers:  Your church is responsible for providing a quiz scorekeeper.  Your church’s scorekeeper will be trained the day of the event and must arrive at least ½ hour before the quiz starts for training.

QUIZ BEGINS ONE HOUR AFTER CHECK-IN BEGINS.

PLEASE NOTE:

1.     All clubbers must be in uniform.
AwanaGames team uniform is o.k.  No shorts.

2.     No video or audio taping of questions is allowed.

3.     There is no admission charge; however, an offering
will be taken during the opening session.

4.     All TREK and JOURNEY quizzers receive a participation pin.

5.     Registrations are due January 31, 2009!
