Our Testimonies
Mark
I was raised in a Christian home where my
dad and mom taught me about Jesus. When I was seven years old my mother
had a Bible class in our home for all of the neighborhood children. I
was asked to invite my friends to come, which I gladly did. During
those weekly clubs was when I heard what Jesus did for me. One day
after club I asked my mom if I could ask Jesus to be my Savior. My mom
showed me from the Bible in John 3:16 that I was a sinner and that all
I needed to do was ask Him to come into my life. It was in my High
School years that I saw a need to communicate my faith to my
schoolmates. I found I did not have the right knowledge to do this so
my desire grew to get Bible Training. I attended Prairie Bible
Institute and Pensacola Christian College. While in Bible school I
became interested in missions and the need to evangelize our needy
world. From that point on my burden has grown.
At the age of twenty-three I was
married to Marjorie. We started serving the Lord together as Child
Evangelism Fellowship missionaries in Eastern Pennsylvania. After three
years of fruitful ministry in Pennsylvania we were asked to move to the
Child Evangelism Fellowship Headquarters in Missouri. I served in the
production department and then moved into the position of Director of
Education for this world wide mission. At this time we started
attending a church that was being planted in St. Peters, MO. From the
start of this ministry I have been involved in the children’s ministry.
In December 1988 I was called by Grace Community Chapel as their first
Children’s Pastor. I have had the opportunity of serving as Deacon,
Sunday school Teacher, Awana Leader and Commander and serving on the
area Awana Ministry Board. Grace Community Chapel commissioned us on
November 24, 1996 as their Awana Missionaries.
Marjorie
I was raised in a Christian home where my
mom and dad taught me about Jesus, but it wasn’t until about eleven
years old that I really realized that I needed to personally accept the
Lord Jesus as my very own. It was at an evangelistic meeting that was
being held at my home church where I made that decision to receive
Jesus into my life. Many verses are favorites, but one of them is
Proverbs 3:5-6. From that point on I have grown spiritually under the
guidance and teaching of several Bible preaching churches.
It was while I attended Prairie Bible Institute that I met Mark. We were married on August 14, 1976 in my home church in Provost, Alberta, Canada. We have served together as Child Evangelism Fellowship missionaries and as a pastor’s wife and now serving as Awana Missionaries.
Matthew
Matthew asked the Lord into his life at the
age of 4. He was
playing with his matchbox cars in the living room while we were
listening to a chrisitan music. He said he wanted to ask
Jesus
into his life so we quizzed him over what he wanted to do and he prayed
to the Lord in his own words. What a thrill to lead our own
child
to the Lord! Matthew now works for UPS parttime and has
started
his own computer business called MattMark Inc.
Matthew also
helps us with our website as well as being involved on our ministry
team.
Michael
Michael asked the
Lord into
his life at the age of 4. He was playing in his
bedroom
while we were listening to the radio. He came out and
announced
that he just asked Jesus into his life. We took him back to
his
bedroom and quizzed him over what he just did and we were excited that
he knew the Lord personally. Praise the Lord for working in
our
own childs life. Michael is homeschooled and will be
graduating
from High School in 2008. He works at the Columns Banquet
center,
enjoys attending Civil Air Patrol, plays the piano and helps us in our
ministry.
